A Successful Classroom Management Program for Students and Teachers

Empowering & Equipping Children with Leadership Tools

IMAGINE a classroom where teachers…

  • Spend 98% of their time teaching or facilitating learning

  • Are full of excitement about creating new ways to make curriculum meaningful

  • Do not become upset or agitated about classroom behavior

  • Are not permanent, or at least seasonal, residents of the building

IMAGINE a city where…

  • Every citizen is valued

  • Unemployment is zero

  • Teamwork abounds

  • Wonderful products are evident even though the focus remains on the process

  • Citizens are empathetic, encouraging, and charitable

  • Entrepreneurship and leadership flourish

Sound like a dream?

WELCOME TO SMARTSVILLE!

A recommendation by Wanda E. Johnson, Ph.D Psychologist:

With violence and poverty on the increase and drop out rates climbing, now is a great time to allow all children to be citizens of Smartsville. Through Smartsville, the teacher introduces parents, students, and staff to democracy that works, justice that is possible, and self discipline that builds community. Smartsville is a common sense, yet brilliant method of empowering children to control their own behaviors in order to positively impact their school, community, and world. Smartsville citizens are held accountable for their behaviors that are emotionally, intellectually, and developmentally appropriate. This firmly grounds young students in the basic ideals and practice of democratic citizenship. Smartsville is a psychologically sound community where violence has no place and justice works through caring students in charge of their own government. It is a safe place where teachers can teach instead of police, and students can learn curriculum while being good citizens. I want to live and learn as a citizen of Smartsville! Where can I find it in my adult world?
